Producer and DJ L’Miranda

Can you tell us a bit about how you started producing and mixing, your background and influences?

I started as a DJ/Producer in Venezuela when I was 18 years old, producing music for the new wave of Latin American artists like Yunglian Mediocre Broke Boi, Santa Maria, Linapary, Etc,

My influences are quite varied but are mainly rhythmic, danceable, energetic and emotional music, to name a few artists: Pastor Lopez, Yung lea, Tecnobanda los rodriguez, Drake, MALA, Digital Mistykz, Munchi, Akapellah, GCK, MC Ardilla, Diplo, DJ Byakko, GIANKO AKA Sonido la LIMPIA, Cardopusher, POCZ & PACHEKO and many more.

You run a party in Barcelona called Deprerreo, how did this start and how has your journey been so far?

I founded Deprerreo with my partner Diamantero in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. We just started because of the interest in creating a platform to promote the new wave of artists from Venezuela and Latin America. It started with the song DEPRERREO by Yunglian Mediocre Broke Boy produced by me, then when everything stated opening again we started throwing parties and creating a collective in Barcelona. The first one was on November 2021 and we haven’t stopped since then, throwing parties in Spain and Colombia and in April 2023 we are doing the first Venezuela tour.

We’ve invited amazing  DJs like Brava, Orquesta paradiso, DJ UWU, Rata De internet, Orfigyal, CRRDR, Wost, Aleroj and many others and have hosted parties in great venues like Razzmatazz, Abaixadors10, Meteoo and more.

What are you most excited about in music currently, in Spain and beyond?

I am very excited about how currently the barriers of musical genres practically do not exist, people are more focused on mixing different genres, on breaking the schemes, and on leaving behind fundamentalism and absurd fights about which genre has more merit, which was an idea that often came from classism and ethnocentrism.

Who are some artists and parties that you think everyone should know about?

Artists: Wost, Yunglian , Orquesta Paradiso, Kruela, CRRDR, Alba Torro, Els Cundits, La Tawa, Aleroj, Aceto, Neeiv, Maxvll, OH!DULCEARi, Asra, Nomad, Linapary, Bulma, DJ Sportium, Joe Dembow, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing a lot of artists that I admire and inspire me a lot.

Parties/Collectives: Desacato Goblin, Pixel Pop Party, Offline meeting point, Felina, Triptofana and I really like what we want to do with ASSUT that is the union of many different collectives from Barcelona to create spaces outside the big venues and corporations that dominate the scene.

Any exciting projects coming up for you in 2023?

I’m very excited about our upcoming tour in Venezuela. It will be the first time we can present the project in our native country, and it will also be an opportunity to give visibility to a lot of artists who are working hard in Venezuela despite all the difficulties that come with being an artist in this country.

You can keep up with L’Miranda’s latest updates on Instagram and Soundcloud.
